Working Olympia SM3 Typewriter — Olive Green German QWERTZ
Some machines are built to last a lifetime, and this Olympia SM3 is one of them. Built in Wilhelmshaven, West Germany, the SM3 set the 1950s standard for a smooth carriage and a crisp, even touch.
This one is in excellent working order and looks superb in its textured olive-green finish with chrome trim. It is tested and ready to type.
Why You’ll Love It
🧭 Excellent working order and a super aesthetic, with light patina visible in the photos
🧭 German QWERTZ keyboard with Ä, Ö, Ü and ß
🧭 Equipped with 2 NEW black and red ribbons (installed). Extra NEW ribbons are $5 each, so request them before checkout
🧭 Made in Germany, Western Zone, by Olympia Werke AG
🧭 Honest condition: a small chrome part is missing on the right side at the back of the carriage (the matching part is present on the left, and the photos show both sides). It doesn’t affect typing

The jacket was beautiful but arms soo short for me - so it made a good gift for a friend
The typewriter arrived from Europe to the US sooner than scheduled which was a wonderful surprise. It was carefully wrapped so there was no damage at all. It was exactly as shown in photos online. All of the keys and functions work perfectly and I’ve been using it regularly with no issue. Highly recommend this business if you’re looking for a stress-free vintage purchase!
