Olympia Progress Portable Typewriter – 1930s–1940s | With Case | Serviced & Working
El Rastro Antique's Warehouses
A true pre-war classic, this Olympia Progress Portable Typewriter represents the golden age of German typewriter manufacturing.
Produced during the late 1930s to early 1940s, this machine features the distinctive Horler London Typewriters & Calculators retailer marking, adding an extra layer of historical interest and collectability.
Built almost entirely from metal, the Olympia Progress is known for its robust construction, elegant design, and surprisingly smooth typing action. Nearly a century later, this example remains fully functional and ready to write.

The typewriter arrived from Europe to the US sooner than scheduled which was a wonderful surprise. It was carefully wrapped so there was no damage at all. It was exactly as shown in photos online. All of the keys and functions work perfectly and I’ve been using it regularly with no issue. Highly recommend this business if you’re looking for a stress-free vintage purchase!
Amazing Customer service. I would buy from this company again <3

Very grateful for my first typewriter and Evgeny's excellent customer service!
FABULOUS ... absolutely MARVELOUS! I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience from start to finish. The Seller left his door open for repeat and referral business! Thank you very kindly.
Exactly as described. Going to be a fantastic gift for the writer in the family. Excellent attention to contact and questions.
These are the best typewriters on the market today. Meticulously restored, and cleaned, and they are working like they are brand new. I've bought two so far and will buy more from here in the future!
This is a gorgeous typewriter and looks brand new.
I am delighted with my rare Pluma 22 typewriter. It arrived in timely fashion, well-packed, and in full working order with its case and cover and two working ribbons. The price was not cheap, but reasonable for a typer that rarely turns up in the UK, and in full working condition despite being from the late 1960s. Seller was helpful. Only issue, if you're buying from the UK, they send via FedEx who will charge you a hefty tax and handling fee of 20-25%, so you need to factor this into the price if you're buying from another country. Seller did provide a discount to ease that blow. I'm very happy with my typewriter and would buy from them again.
El RastronAntiques did a fantastic job of describing their typewriter and delivering it. Lots of communication along the way assured me that they are reliable and that my item would arrive as expected.
My typewriter arrived as promised; quickly and in working order.
It looks brand new! From Spain to North Carolina, I’m happily amazed.
Olympia Traveller Deluxe, German, 1970s, securely packed, arrived intact and in perfect working order, reconditioned like new, a fully working antique, a small machine that meets my immediate need, making a one-off micro-book of 100 of my own haikus, written for this express purpose, arranged in used teabags sealed in beeswax and bound in cloth covers.
Great service and communication. Superb packing and delivery.
This is a beautiful antique. I am so pleased with this typewriter. I will treasure it- and write so many letters!
Amazing machine, packaging and great dealing with will buy again in the future!!! Amazing super happy
